Uzbekistan increased electricity production by 5.8% in the first five months of 2026 compared to the same period last year. According to the country's Ministry of Energy, 37.68 billion kWh were generated in January–May, which is 2.06 billion kWh more than a year earlier.
Electricity consumption during this period also grew to 36.32 billion kWh, an increase of 1.3 billion kWh, or 3.8%. These figures reflect a steady increase in demand for electricity in the industrial and domestic sectors, as well as the stable operation of the country's energy system.
In separate statistics for May 2026, generation amounted to 7.02 billion kWh, which is 3.7% higher than in May 2025. Electricity consumption in May reached 6.78 billion kWh, an increase of only 0.1% compared to the same period last year, indicating a stabilization of the load on the energy system.
