Russian natural gas supplies to Uzbekistan increased by 15% in 2025, reaching 6.48 billion cubic meters. This is stated in Gazprom's annual report. For comparison, in 2024, the volume of supplies was 5.64 billion cubic meters, and the annual increase exceeded 840 million cubic meters.
The growth was ensured by increasing pumping through the territory of Kazakhstan via the Central Asia – Center main gas pipeline, which is used in reverse mode. The company noted that in the fourth quarter of 2025, supplies were carried out at the maximum technical capacity of the existing infrastructure.
The contract between Gazprom and Uzbekistan was signed in 2023, and actual supplies began in the autumn of the same year. The document provides for annual supplies of up to 7.7 billion cubic meters of gas, so the current volume has already approached the stipulated maximum. At the same time, the Russian company is expanding energy cooperation with other countries in the region. It was previously reported that total gas supplies to Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan increased by more than 22% in 2025, and transit agreements with Kazakhstan are valid until 2040.
