Uzbekistan and Japan Agree on New Projects: Focus on Energy Saving

Parties Expand Cooperation in Economy, Healthcare, and Personnel Training

Representatives of Uzbekistan and Japan discussed the further development of bilateral cooperation in economic and social spheres. Negotiations took place between Uzbekistan's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance, Jamshid Kuchkarov, and a delegation led by Japan's Ambassador, Hirata Kenji.

The focus was on projects to improve energy efficiency, develop agriculture, implement the "One Village - One Product" program, as well as initiatives in healthcare and training of qualified specialists. Separately, the parties considered the introduction of energy-saving technologies in social facilities and industrial enterprises.

Following the meeting, a ceremony was held to exchange notes on two projects implemented with the participation of the Japan International Cooperation Agency. These projects involve the modernization of social and industrial facilities using modern technologies and preferential financing. The parties reaffirmed their intention to continue joint work and expand cooperation in key areas of economic development.
