The launch of Amazon Leo satellite internet is being prepared in Uzbekistan. A corresponding cooperation agreement was signed between the American company and Uz-Sat within the framework of the V Tashkent International Investment Forum. The project envisages providing high-speed internet access throughout the country.
According to the Ministry of Digital Technologies, the service will be available not only in cities but also in remote and hard-to-reach areas where telecommunication infrastructure is absent or limited. This should significantly expand digital accessibility for the population and businesses.
The Amazon Leo network is based on a constellation of over 3,000 satellites, interconnected by high-speed optical communication channels and integrated with ground infrastructure. Compact user terminals of various types will be used for connection, and the service launch in Uzbekistan is expected as early as 2026.
