Japanese specialists will help rehabilitate stroke patients: Kitahara Group center to open in Tashkent

A rehabilitation center of the Japanese medical group Kitahara Group is planned to open in Tashkent. The project was discussed at a meeting between the First Deputy Minister of Health of Uzbekistan, Otabek Imamov, and a company delegation led by its head, Shigemi Kitahara.

The parties noted the high level of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Japan in the medical field and expressed interest in expanding the partnership. Special attention was paid to the experience of Kitahara Group, which provides comprehensive patient support – from prevention and diagnostics to high-tech treatment, neurosurgery, and subsequent rehabilitation.

The Ministry of Health supported the initiative to create a modern multidisciplinary clinic in the capital that will specialize in the rehabilitation of patients, including those who have suffered a stroke. The center's work is planned to be based on Japanese approaches to early recovery and post-hospital care.

According to data presented by the Japanese side, the application of the methods developed by the company allows approximately 77% of stroke patients to achieve a noticeable improvement in their condition within the first month of rehabilitation.

The participants in the negotiations also discussed practical steps for implementing the investment project and introducing Japanese experience into the healthcare system of Uzbekistan. It is expected that the new center will become one of the platforms for applying modern neurorehabilitation technologies in the country.
