Yandex Maps service has updated street panoramas of Tashkent after extensive filming of the city's infrastructure. During the work, a special car covered more than 3400 km of roads and streets, and about 130 thousand panoramic images were prepared for the digital map.
New images allow users to explore routes in advance, find building entrances, assess the location of objects, and see changes in the urban environment. The updated panoramas include popular places in the capital, such as "New Uzbekistan" Park, Magic City amusement park, Tashkent City Mall, and the Olympic Village. Images of major highways and city streets were also updated.
Yandex Uzbekistan noted that panoramas are used not only for virtual tours but also to improve the digital map. Using computer vision technologies, the system analyzes road signs, markings, traffic lights, and other infrastructure elements, helping to maintain the relevance of navigation data. Users can view the updated images through a special panorama layer in the Yandex Maps mobile application.
