The State Museum of History of Uzbekistan is resuming its work after a large-scale renovation that lasted about two years. The grand opening will take place on July 24, after which visitors will be able to once again explore the updated exhibitions.
In honor of the museum's return to the public, Open Days will be held from July 24 to 26. During these days, citizens of Uzbekistan will be able to visit the museum for free. The institution was closed since June 2024 due to the renovation of exhibition halls and the repair of the building's facade.
The State Museum of History of Uzbekistan is considered one of the oldest museums in Central Asia. It was founded in 1876 and is celebrating its 150th anniversary in 2026. Its collection houses over 350,000 exhibits, including archaeological finds, coins, ancient manuscripts, and ethnographic materials, telling the history of the region from antiquity to the present day.
