In Uzbekistan, from January to July 2026, 7 billion kWh of electricity was produced from renewable sources. This is 23% more than in the same period last year. Currently, there are 21 "green" energy facilities operating in the country with a total capacity of 5,602 MW.
The structure of renewable generation includes 15 solar power plants with a total capacity of 3,930 MW and six wind power plants with a capacity of 1,672 MW. The production of such electricity has been growing at an accelerated pace in recent years: if in 2022 the figure was 434 million kWh, by 2025 it had already reached 10.5 billion kWh.
In total, from 2022 to July 2026, Uzbekistan received more than 23.4 billion kWh of electricity from renewable sources. Thanks to this, natural gas consumption was reduced by approximately 6.24 billion cubic meters, and the emission of about 13.46 million tons of harmful substances was prevented. The authorities attribute the growth in indicators to the launch of new projects, attracting investments, and the introduction of modern technologies in the energy sector.
