A specialized Foresight Office for the construction materials industry has been established in Fergana region. It will focus on studying market trends, forecasting industry development, and preparing recommendations for businesses and government agencies. The project was implemented by the Institute of Macroeconomic and Territorial Studies in cooperation with Fergana State Technical University.
To advance the initiative, Samer Shidiak, an expert in strategic innovation and artificial intelligence, was invited to the region. He previously held leadership positions at Microsoft and participated in the creation of innovation centers in the Middle East and Dubai. During a meeting with Fergana region Governor Khayrullo Bozorov, issues of economic digitalization, AI application, and the implementation of foresight approaches in industry were discussed.
The new office will serve as a tool for continuous monitoring of changes in the construction materials sector, analyzing technological and investment trends, and preparing scientifically sound forecasts. As part of the project launch, training seminars were held for representatives of industry enterprises, where participants discussed ways to adapt businesses to future changes and utilize new technologies.
