Average Salary in Uzbekistan Exceeds 7 Million Sums: Where Do People Earn the Most?

Workers' incomes in the country grew by 18.4% over the year, but the gap between regions remains twofold

The average monthly nominal accrued salary in Uzbekistan reached 7.09 million sums by January–June 2026. According to the National Statistics Committee, this figure increased by 18.4% compared to the same period last year and has been growing for the fifth consecutive year.

The highest salaries were recorded in Tashkent — an average of 12.01 million sums per month. Navoi Region took second place with 8.72 million sums, and Tashkent Region was third with 6.67 million sums. The lowest wage level was in Kashkadarya Region — 4.86 million sums. Thus, the difference between the highest-paid and lowest-paid regions exceeds 2.5 times.

By industry, banking, insurance, and credit intermediation sectors lead, with an average salary of 19.1 million sums. Information technology and communications are in second place with 17.4 million sums, followed by transportation and storage — 11.07 million sums. In industry, the average salary is 8.26 million sums, in trade — 7.65 million sums, and in construction — 7.02 million sums. The lowest figures remain in healthcare and social services — 4.44 million sums, as well as in education — 4.97 million sums.
