A large biofuel production plant using hydrogen technologies is planned to be built in the Khorezm region of Uzbekistan. The agreement on the project implementation was signed by UAE companies Allied Biofuels and Deem Engineering.
The volume of direct foreign investments in the project is estimated at $6.1 billion. The construction of the plant is scheduled for 2026–2030, and full capacity is expected to be reached in the third quarter of 2030.
After launch, the enterprise will be able to produce approximately 110 thousand tons of aviation biofuel, 300 thousand tons of electro-sustainable aviation fuel, and 5 thousand tons of "green" diesel fuel annually. About 70% of the products are planned to be supplied to Uzbekistan Airports, with the remaining volume to be exported to Emirates National Oil Company.
Alfred Benedict, head of Allied Biofuels, announced that part of the project's financing is planned to be attracted with the participation of BlackRock/Global Infrastructure Partners.
