A package of legislative changes affecting several areas will come into force in Uzbekistan on August 1, 2026. The innovations will impact entrepreneurs, motorists, farmers, taxpayers, and government agencies. Among the most notable changes are new rules for exchange trading of liquefied gas, restrictions on the use of natural gas by greenhouse farms in Tashkent and parts of the Tashkent region, and business inspections only after registration through an electronic system using a QR code.
The digitalization of public services will continue. Car owners will be able to pick up vehicles from impound lots using a QR code, an automated system for selecting objects for inspection will be introduced for phytosanitary control, and state archives will expand the use of digital technologies. In addition, citizens and entrepreneurs will be able to evaluate the work of tax authorities' employees, and the registration of loan and warehouse storage agreements in the tax system will become mandatory.
New support measures are also provided for specific economic sectors. Owners of "smart" gardens will receive tax benefits, fish farms will receive additional preferences, and young farmers will be able to use the services of accounting and reporting centers free of charge for two years. Also, starting in August, a compensation program for scrapping old cars will be launched, a reward of 20% of the imposed fine will be paid for reporting violations of industrial safety requirements, and a temporary moratorium will be introduced on hunting rare animal species.
