Financial Boom in Uzbekistan: Services Grew by Almost 17%, and Banks Showed Record Rates

The financial sector proved to be the main growth driver, significantly outperforming education, IT, communications, and even the real estate market

In the first half of 2026, the volume of market services in Uzbekistan reached 664.9 trillion soums, an increase of 16.9% year-on-year. The financial sector showed the highest dynamics — the volume of financial services grew by 26.3%.

Second place was taken by architectural, engineering, and technical services, which grew by 24.6%. Educational services increased by 22.7%, and communication and informatization services by 22.1%. The real estate transactions segment grew by another 18.3%.

Healthcare added 16.8%, other services — 16.3%. Trade grew by 14.9%, transport — by 14.7%, and personal services — by 14.2%.

Slower rates were recorded in the hotel and restaurant sector — 11.6%, computer and household appliance repair — 11.4%. The weakest among the main segments was the rental market, which increased by only 7.4%.

Thus, financial services not only became the largest growth driver but also significantly outpaced most other sectors of the country's economy.
