Production in Uzbekistan's SEZs Grew by 21% in Six Months

Enterprises in special economic zones produced industrial goods worth 32 trillion soums, and investments in fixed capital exceeded 5.1 trillion soums

From January to June 2026, enterprises in Uzbekistan's special economic zones produced industrial goods worth 32.1 trillion soums. This is 21% more than in the same period last year, when the figure was 26.5 trillion soums. SEZs have become the largest type of economic zones in the country by industrial output.

As of July 1, there were 34 SEZs operating in Uzbekistan, uniting 1167 enterprises. The largest volume of investments in fixed capital also fell on SEZs — 5.1 trillion soums. For comparison, clusters received 1.6 trillion soums, technoparks — 808.9 billion soums, and small industrial zones — 551.8 billion soums.

60.8 thousand people worked at SEZ enterprises. The main areas of industrial production were metallurgy, accounting for 24.4%, and the production of cars, trailers, and semi-trailers — 24.1%. This was followed by food production with a share of 9.3%, non-metallic mineral products — 7.5%, and chemical products — 5.9%.

The growth of indicators for IT Park participants is noted separately. Their service exports for the first half of the year reached $392.5 million, compared to $302.2 million a year earlier. The volume of market services grew to 18.2 trillion soums, and investments in fixed capital more than doubled — to 647.5 billion soums.
