Uzbekistan and the Philippines prepare for direct flights

The countries also intend to increase trade, investment, and tourist exchanges

Uzbekistan and the Philippines have discussed the prospects of launching direct flights between the two countries. This issue was one of the topics of the meeting between Uzbekistan's Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mirvohid Azimov and Philippine Ambassador Roberto Manalo, held on August 14.

The parties also considered expanding trade, economic, and investment cooperation. Priority areas were identified as agriculture, chemical and food industries, and tourism. In addition, the possibility of establishing direct contacts between the chambers of commerce and industry of the two states was discussed.

Special attention was paid to the development of tourist exchanges. In addition to direct flights, the parties are considering organizing familiarization trips for representatives of the tourism industry of both countries.

Following the negotiations, Uzbekistan and the Philippines confirmed their intention to continue working on the development of bilateral ties and the implementation of joint projects.
