Starting August 20, planned checks of air navigation equipment using an Avion laboratory aircraft will begin over Tashkent. The flights will last several days. The Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan asked residents of the capital not to worry: repeated flights at low altitude are exclusively related to technical checks.
The aircraft may pass over the same areas several times. Specialists will evaluate the operation of radio engineering equipment and light-signal equipment of airports, checking their compliance with international requirements and ICAO standards.
To perform such tasks, Avion uses the Diamond DA62 MPP, equipped with specialized high-precision equipment. The company was created by the "Uzaeronavigatsiya" center to check and calibrate airfield systems, as well as perform special aviation tasks.
Previously, Uzbekistan had to attract an aircraft from Kazakhstan for similar work. Now, having its own operator will allow for major checks within the country.
