Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan plan to significantly increase mutual trade and bring trade turnover to $1 billion by 2030. This was discussed at a meeting between the Minister of Investments, Industry and Trade of Uzbekistan, Laziz Kudratov, and the Ambassador of Azerbaijan, Rashad Mammadov.
In 2025, the volume of trade between the two countries amounted to $307.3 million, which is 14.6% more than the previous year. In January–June 2026, it reached $170.3 million, showing a growth of 30.8% year-on-year.
The parties are preparing new documents to expand trade and investment cooperation, including a "Roadmap" for the implementation of previously reached agreements. A special program to increase mutual trade turnover to $1 billion is also being considered.
Another direction will be the development of direct ties between regions and businesses. To this end, the IV Uzbek-Azerbaijani Interregional Forum will be held in Tashkent on August 22.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to intensify work on trade and investment projects, as well as expand interregional economic cooperation.
