Uzbekistan Attracts Japanese Companies to Develop Deposits

Tokyo and Tashkent intend to expand cooperation in geology and the mining and metallurgical industry, including attracting Japanese investments in promising projects.

Representatives of the Ministry of Mining and Geology of Uzbekistan held negotiations with Japanese companies ITOCHU and JOGMEC, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry of Japan.

The Japanese side emphasized the importance of strategic partnership with Uzbekistan and expressed interest in further cooperation in geology and the mining and metallurgical industry.

Uzbekistan, in turn, proposed attracting ITOCHU, JOGMEC, and other Japanese companies to develop promising sites within the country. The possibility of attracting Japanese capital for the implementation of such projects was also discussed separately.

The Uzbek ministry declared its readiness to provide investors with the necessary support at all stages of project implementation.

Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their intention to expand practical cooperation and work together on new projects in geology and the mining and metallurgical industry.
