Construction of a 15 MW hydropower plant continues in the Sokh district of Fergana region. The project cost is estimated at $41 million. After launch, the plant will be able to provide about 70% of the district's electricity needs.

The progress of the work was inspected by the Hokim of Fergana region, Khayrullo Bozorov. Currently, specialists are engaged in leveling and strengthening the internal and side sections of the future HPP's canal. Concurrently, concrete work is proceeding at an accelerated pace.

Approximately 80 units of special equipment are involved at the construction site. The project also provides for the creation of jobs for unemployed residents of the district, including young people who have returned from labor migration.

During the visit, the regional leadership was informed about the current state of construction and the fulfillment of assigned tasks. Following the inspection, those responsible were instructed to ensure high quality of work and meet the established deadlines.

After the plant is commissioned, the Sokh district will be able to significantly reduce its dependence on external electricity supplies.
