Women-only carriage to be introduced on Almaty - Tashkent train

The Almaty - Tashkent train runs daily

Starting October 1, international train No. 1/2 Almaty — Tashkent will for the first time feature a women-only carriage. Tickets for this carriage can be purchased by women, and passengers will be served by female conductors. Boys up to and including seven years old will be allowed to travel with adult female passengers.

Tickets can be purchased at railway ticket offices and online. When buying online, seats in such a carriage will be marked with a special "ЖН" (ZH) symbol. Sales open 45 days before departure.

The Almaty — Tashkent train runs daily. It departs from Almaty at 19:05 and arrives in Tashkent at 12:53 the next day. The return train departs from Tashkent at 14:41 and arrives in Almaty at 08:51.

"Passenger Transportation" explained the decision by the high demand for the service and the increase in passenger traffic. On domestic routes in Kazakhstan, women-only carriages have already been used by over 946,000 passengers. After the launch of the new carriage, the number of routes with such a service will reach 14. The international train Almaty — Tashkent will be the first route between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan where passengers will have access to a separate women-only carriage.
