The implementation of six major projects in the digital infrastructure sector has begun in Karakalpakstan. These include three mining facilities and three data centers, with total investments estimated at $5.11 billion. The start of construction was announced by Amanbay Orynbayev, Chairman of the Jokargy Kenes of Karakalpakstan, during the opening ceremony of new facilities with the participation of Uzbekistan's President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

The development of the digital industry has become one of the priority areas for investment in the region. Earlier, authorities announced the creation of a special zone, Besqala Mining Valley, which covers the entire Karakalpakstan. Its participants will be able to use electricity from the unified energy system, renewable sources, and hydrogen power plants for mining.

Significant tax incentives are provided for residents: mining income is exempt from relevant taxes and fees until January 1, 2035. The special zone will be managed by a separate directorate, and permits for mining activities are issued by the National Agency for Prospective Projects.

Project participants will be able to sell the crypto assets they receive through national crypto exchanges and foreign platforms, or exchange them for other liquid digital assets. According to Orynbayev, the creation of modern infrastructure will allow the region to attract higher quality investments and large-scale technological projects.
