UK to Allocate up to £25k to Uzbekistan Universities for Inclusion Projects

A joint program will allow universities in the UK and Uzbekistan to research barriers for students with disabilities and develop practical solutions.

The British Council* has opened applications for the Disability Inclusion Partnerships 2026 program, under which UK universities can collaborate with universities in Uzbekistan to implement projects in the field of inclusive higher education.

Each project is eligible for funding of up to £25,000. The programs will last 17 months, starting from January 2027. Funds can be used for research, needs analysis, development of educational content, and training staff and students on inclusion issues. The purchase of equipment and technologies using the grant is not permitted.

Applications must be submitted jointly by British and Uzbek universities, with the UK institution acting as the lead applicant. The deadline for applications is September 21, 2026.
