The Syrdarya region of Uzbekistan expects to attract about $2 billion in foreign investment in 2026. This was announced by the khokim of the region, Erkinjon Turdimov, at the international investment forum "Do Business in Syrdarya" in Gulistan.
According to him, over the past ten years, about $8 billion in investments have been directed to the region's economy, of which more than $2.5 billion were foreign investments. Thus, the 2026 result is already approaching the total figure of the previous decade and exceeds last year's foreign investment volume by 2.2 times.

Over the past year, 30 projects with a total value of $1.5 billion have been placed in the industrial zones of the Syrdarya region. They occupied about 420 hectares. Among the most promising areas, the authorities name energy, metallurgy, agriculture, textile and chemical industries, mechanical engineering, production of building materials, IT, electrical engineering, and extraction of rare metals.
More than 30 delegations and over 300 foreign guests from about ten countries took part in the investment forum. Among them were representatives from China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan.
According to Turdimov, the region intends to continue attracting foreign capital and expanding cooperation with foreign companies.
