Indorama, which has been operating in Uzbekistan for 15 years, is preparing new investment projects in several industries at once. The company's total investment in the country's economy has already exceeded $1 billion.
According to Uzbekistan's Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev, further expansion of cooperation and preparation of new projects were discussed at a meeting with the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Indorama Corporation, Prakash Kejriwal.
A new textile complex is planned for construction in the Kashkadarya region. In addition, the company is considering projects for the production of fertilizers, processing of agricultural products, and development of a raw material base for the chemical industry.
A separate direction is the development of ilmenite deposits in Karakalpakstan. The authorities expect that the new projects will not only increase the volume of investments but also expand production localization, create additional jobs and production chains, introduce modern technologies, and increase the output of high value-added products.
According to Khodjaev, the transition from simply increasing investments to creating deeper industrial cooperation will be the basis for the next stage of partnership between Uzbekistan and Indorama.
