Uzbekistan tested a Chinese train at 160 km/h

Tashkent and Andijan want to be connected in three hours

Uzbekistan has begun test operation of a modern high-speed train of Chinese production, which arrived in the Andijan region. The train is capable of speeds up to 160 km/h and can carry up to 415 passengers simultaneously.

After the launch of the new service, the train will be able to cover the route between Tashkent and Andijan in approximately three hours. The train is currently undergoing tests, after which a decision will be made on its further use on the route.

It is expected that the new transport will increase the speed and comfort of railway travel between the capital and the Andijan region. In addition, the launch of high-speed service should improve transport connectivity between regions and increase the mobility of residents.

For Uzbekistan, the Tashkent — Andijan railway line is of particular importance: it connects the capital with densely populated areas in the east of the country. The use of faster rolling stock will make travel between regions significantly quicker.
