Uzbekistan takes on digital platforms: operators and providers pointed to violations

The Competition Committee is checking websites and applications of internet, streaming and digital TV services after a sharp increase in consumer complaints

The Committee for Competition Development and Consumer Protection of Uzbekistan has started checking digital platforms of companies providing internet, streaming and digital television services. The reason was a noticeable increase in citizens' appeals: since the beginning of 2026, the number of complaints about telecommunication services has already exceeded 1000, which is approximately twice the figure for the same period last year.

During the study of websites and mobile applications of some operators, specialists found that consumers are not always provided with the full amount of necessary information. In particular, this refers to tariffs and prices, terms of service, public offers and other important provisions. In some cases, information is also missing in the state language.

The Committee conducts analysis based on open sources and checks the compliance of published data with legislative requirements. Operators and providers were recommended to put their websites and applications in order and provide users with complete and understandable information. The final results of the inspection are promised to be presented later, and consumer appeals are accepted through the email addresses specified by the Committee.
