DP World plans to begin construction of a multimodal logistics terminal in Tashkent in October 2026. Investments in the project will amount to $288 million. The complex will be created near the capital to serve enterprises of the "Yangi avlod" special industrial zone. The territory will house a container rail and road freight terminal, a customs post, and a large warehouse complex.
The total project area will be 82.3 hectares, and warehouse facilities will occupy about 226.5 thousand square meters. The railway terminal will be able to handle up to 150 thousand TEUs, and the road terminal will serve up to 55 thousand trucks. A customs office, a vehicle storage area, and additional logistics services from third-party operators are also provided.
The project is being implemented by the joint venture DP World Tashkent Freight Terminal, established by the Uzbek and Emirati sides. DP World's share is 85%, and Tashkent Invest Company's is 15%. The new hub is expected to accelerate cargo movement, increase supply chain efficiency, and create additional opportunities for localization of production in Uzbekistan. The agreement on the establishment of the JV was signed in October 2025, and the head of DP World has already extended an invitation to the President of Uzbekistan for the groundbreaking ceremony.
