In Uzbekistan, the procedure for inspecting vehicles with gas cylinders changed on September 1, but drivers will not have to go for mass inspections. The Committee for Industrial, Radiation and Nuclear Safety clarified that the new requirements apply only when the time comes for the next technical inspection of the gas cylinder. If the current document has not yet expired, the vehicle can continue to be used without re-inspection and urgent QR code registration.
After a scheduled inspection, its results are entered into the electronic system, and the owner is issued a document with a QR code. Thus, all motorists do not have to apply to laboratories simultaneously. For example, if a cylinder was inspected in March 2025 and the document is valid until March 2028, re-inspection is not required after September 1.
The new procedure was introduced by Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 315 of June 18, 2026. It is aimed at controlling the technical condition of gas cylinders, combating fake documents, and reducing the risk of accidents. If the inspection period expires after September 1, the inspection must be completed within the established period and a new electronic document with a QR code must be issued. The same requirements apply when installing a new gas cylinder in a vehicle.
