Construction of a new bridge across the Naryn River has been completed in Namangan Region, directly connecting the regional center with Uychi, Uchkurgan, and Naryn districts. Along with the crossing, 17.5 km of new road have been built. The bridge itself is 481.5 meters long, making it one of the largest structures of its kind built in Uzbekistan since independence.
The new transport link will allow residents of Uchkurgan and Naryn districts to shorten their route to Namangan by approximately 20 km. In addition, the road is expected to reduce the likelihood of traffic jams and accidents in Uychi and Naryn districts. Authorities expect that improved connectivity will also increase tourist flow through the Uchkurgan and Kensay border crossings on the border with Kyrgyzstan.
The project cost 62 billion soums. More than 100 units of equipment and over 50 specialists were involved in the construction. The crossing's structure includes 20 intermediate supports. The project was implemented by the Tashkent regional branch of the "Uzyulkuprick" cluster.
