In the first eight months of 2026, Uzbekistan's imports of oil and oil products reached $1.044 billion, an increase of 15.7% compared to $902.5 million a year earlier. The most significant growth was in gasoline: its import in monetary terms grew by 48.6% — to $437.4 million, and the physical volume increased by 41.2%, from 511 million to 721.5 million liters.
Purchases of liquefied gas grew even more significantly. Propane imports increased by 248% — from $35.7 million to $124.3 million, and the volume of supplies grew by 138.9%, reaching 209.6 thousand tons. Imports of other liquid fuels increased by 113.6% in monetary terms and by 141.1% in volume. Lubricant purchases also increased — by 16.4%, to $133.7 million.
At the same time, a decrease was recorded for several types of fuel. Diesel imports decreased by 12.3%, to $179.5 million, kerosene by 15.3%, to $44.8 million, and light distillates by 16.2%, to $68.3 million. The sharpest drop was in fuel oil: its imports plummeted by 94.2% — from $94.8 million to just $5.5 million, and the physical volume decreased by 92%, to 19 thousand tons.
