Fergana region intends to elevate cooperation with Seoul National University of Science and Technology SeoulTech to a new level. This was agreed upon during the visit of the regional delegation, led by Hokim Khayrullo Bozorov, to South Korea. The parties plan to expand student and academic exchanges, launch joint educational programs and research projects, and more actively interact in the field of artificial intelligence and information technology.
Fergana region showed particular interest in SeoulTech's technological infrastructure. Representatives of the delegation were shown research centers and laboratories engaged in AI, semiconductor technologies, industrial automation, and digital twins. The Industrial Artificial Intelligence Laboratory studies intelligent production control, fault prediction, quality control, and AI agents, while the Digital Twin Laboratory works with Smart Factory and Smart City technologies. A separate direction is the AI Semiconductor Processing SW Research Center, related to technologies for AI semiconductors and the training of engineering personnel.
Fergana State Technical University and SeoulTech already have a memorandum of cooperation and have agreed to fill it with concrete projects. This includes joint research, creation of modern laboratories, training of specialists, exchange of experience, and implementation of developments in enterprises. Separately, the parties discussed the possibility of adapting the SeoulTech model, which integrates education, science, business, and production, in the Fergana region. The university currently has about 14,000 students, including over 2,000 international students.
