Uzbekistan and South Korea have agreed to expand cooperation in higher education, science, and academic exchange. New agreements were discussed on September 11 in Seoul at the first Uzbek-Korean Interregional Cooperation Forum. In particular, Fergana State Technical University intends to develop joint projects with South Korean universities.
Agreements have been reached with SeoulTech on cooperation in artificial intelligence, Smart City, robotics, and cybersecurity. Under the program, five Korean professors and lecturers will be able to work at Fergana University, 10 Uzbek lecturers will go for internships in South Korea, and two more researchers will undergo scientific internships.
With Mirae Campus of Yonsei University, plans include developing student exchange, joint master's and doctoral programs, as well as scientific research. Additionally, it has been proposed to establish a Korean Language and Culture Center at Fergana State Technical University. Separately, the parties agreed on cooperation with the high-tech industrial zone of Seongnam.
