JSC "Uzbekgidroenergo" and South Korean Kumsung Engineering & Construction have agreed to develop roadmaps for the development of micro-HPPs in Uzbekistan. The negotiations took place during a meeting of the Uzbek company's delegation with Kumsung representatives, who presented their technologies, production capabilities, and solutions for small hydropower.
Separately, the parties discussed adapting Korean technologies for the construction of small and micro-HPPs to the conditions of Uzbekistan. One of the directions could be the use of the energy potential of existing irrigation networks and hydraulic structures. The possibility of local production of modern hydro-units and the implementation of joint projects is also being considered.
Representatives of "Gidroproekt", "Uzhydropower" plant, TIIIMSKh, and Tashkent State Technical University participated in the negotiations. Following the meeting, the parties agreed to prepare roadmaps and continue working on specific projects. A visit by representatives of Kumsung Engineering & Construction to Uzbekistan is expected next month.
