Uzbekistan is expanding programs for training specialists in artificial intelligence and other digital fields. This was discussed at the Digital Education Forum 2026, held as part of ICT WEEK Uzbekistan 2026. Participants were presented with current educational initiatives and new opportunities for studying AI, machine learning, cloud technologies, and data management.
As part of the “5 Million AI Leaders” program, 1.3 million people have already registered for free online courses. Concurrently, AI laboratories are being developed in the country's universities: under the “Al-Khwarizmi Successors” program, about 8,000 students have completed or are continuing their training in artificial intelligence and programming.
Cooperation with international technology companies is also expanding. AWS Academy operates in more than 10 universities in Uzbekistan and trains over 2,000 students annually in AI, machine learning, cloud technologies, data analysis, and cybersecurity. Samsung Innovation Campus offers training in artificial intelligence, Big Data, IoT, and programming.
With the support of the World Bank, a new enrollment for free training for 600 people has started. In Tashkent, participants will study AI and machine learning; in Fergana, game development; in Namangan, 2D/3D modeling; and in Samarkand, cloud technologies.
