Uzbekistan and China signed agreements worth over $400 million

The documents were signed following the interregional trade and economic forum in Nukus.

Uzbekistan and China signed agreements totaling over $400 million following the interregional trade and economic forum held on September 26 in Nukus. The event was attended by about 400 representatives of government agencies and business circles from both countries.

The Chinese delegation included, in particular, representatives from Shaanxi Province, SilkRoad Industrial Cooperation Center, Shaanxi Yulin Energy Group, and China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation. Participants were informed about the investment potential of Karakalpakstan, the region's resource base, existing benefits, and business support measures.

As part of the business program, the parties discussed expanding cooperation in the mining industry, geology, information technology, and agriculture. Promising investment projects in the region were also presented to Chinese partners.

Following the negotiations, the parties formalized a package of agreements worth over $400 million. The documents provide for the implementation of projects in the listed areas and other priority areas of economic cooperation between Uzbekistan and China.
