The Pharmaceutical Technical University of Uzbekistan (PTU) plans to launch educational programs in bioinformatics and biomedical engineering based on the experience of the Technical University of Munich (TUM). A cooperation agreement was signed by the Agency for the Development of the Pharmaceutical and Medical Industry, PTU, and TUM.
The agreements were reached during a meeting between Agency Director Abdulla Azizov and representatives of the German university. The parties discussed the development of joint educational and scientific projects, as well as the training of specialists for the pharmaceutical and medical industries.
The new Bioinformatics and Biomedical Engineering programs are intended to expand the list of modern specialties at PTU and ensure the training of personnel with international experience. In addition, the cooperation provides for the further development of research work and the implementation of joint projects in the field of medicine and pharmaceutics.
The Technical University of Munich is one of the largest scientific and educational institutions in Germany. According to data provided by the Agency, in the QS World University Rankings 2027, TUM ranks 25th in the world and first among universities in Germany and the European Union.
