Uzbekistan to Attract South Korean Universities for AI and Robotics Development

The parties are discussing joint research, digital education, and industrial automation

Uzbekistan and South Korea intend to expand cooperation in artificial intelligence, robotics, digital education, and e-government. These areas were discussed on October 14 by Uzbekistan's Minister of Digital Technologies Sherzod Shermatov and the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea Won Do-yeon. The meeting participants paid special attention to the implementation of initiatives proposed at the September 'Central Asia — Republic of Korea' summit involving the leaders of both countries.

The parties are considering opportunities to attract leading South Korean universities to scientific research and the development of AI technologies. In particular, preliminary negotiations on cooperation with Seoul National University have already begun. Another direction will be joint projects in robotics and the implementation of artificial intelligence-based solutions in industrial production.

Among the discussed initiatives is the use of South Korean online courses within the national project 'Five Million Artificial Intelligence Leaders'. Following the meeting, the parties agreed to continue negotiations with relevant organizations and develop specific projects in the field of digital technologies, science, and education.
