VEON acquires Perfectum in Uzbekistan for $207 million to expand 5G network

After the deal, Beeline Uzbekistan's frequency resources will increase by approximately 50%

International digital operator VEON has agreed to acquire 100% of Rubicon Wireless, operating in Uzbekistan under the Perfectum brand. The deal is valued at approximately $207 million, including about $93 million in debt that will be transferred to the buyer. The acquisition is expected to be completed by the end of October 2026. The necessary regulatory approvals have already been obtained, and financing will be provided by VEON's own funds.

Perfectum owns 115 MHz of radio frequency spectrum in the 850 and 3800 MHz bands, telecommunications infrastructure, and a 5G Standalone network built on Nokia equipment. After the asset consolidation, the frequency resources of Beeline Uzbekistan, also part of the VEON group, are expected to increase by approximately 50%. This will allow for increased network capacity, expanded coverage, and accelerated development of fifth-generation mobile communications.

The company expects that the integration of Perfectum's infrastructure with Beeline Uzbekistan's network will also support the development of 4G/LTE, fixed wireless internet access, and digital services. According to VEON's management, the acquisition will strengthen the group's position in the Uzbek market and increase investment efficiency. Special attention is planned to be given to the quality of subscriber service and expanding access to digital and financial services.
