Uzbekistan airports handled a record 12.66 million passengers in 9 months

Passenger traffic grew by 13%, and the number of flights by 10%

In January–September 2026, Uzbekistan's airports handled 12.66 million passengers, which is 13% more than in the same period last year. The number of takeoffs and landings reached 102,836, an increase of 10%. International flights accounted for 71,625 movements, while domestic ones made up 31,211. Passenger traffic on international routes stood at 10.36 million people, and on domestic routes it was about 2.3 million.

Tashkent remains the country's main aviation hub: over the nine months, the capital's airport handled 8.49 million passengers and 62,482 flights. Among regional gateways, Samarkand leads with around 1.11 million passengers. It is followed by Urgench (724.4 thousand), Fergana (511 thousand), and Namangan (497.6 thousand). The sharpest relative increase was recorded in Andijan—an 8.7-fold surge, up to 161.4 thousand passengers. The company attributes this to a low-base effect following the resumption of the airport's full operations in March 2025.

Trends across the regions were mixed: passenger traffic in Termez grew by 48%, in Urgench by 18%, and in Nukus by 17%. In Termez, this was driven by the expansion of pilgrim transportation and the launch of Flyadeal flights, while the other two cities benefited from new international routes. At the same time, Namangan lost 16% of its passengers, and Karshi lost 22%. Navoi Airport is shifting its focus toward cargo operations: despite a 22% drop in passenger traffic, the total number of flights rose by 14%, and cargo handling also increased.
