In Uzbekistan, mandatory \u201cRadar\u201d signs in front of mobile speed enforcement systems have been abolished

Drivers will now only need to be warned about stationary speed control devices

In Uzbekistan, the procedure for installing “Radar” road signs has been changed: they are now mandatory only in front of stationary speed recording devices. The innovation is established by Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 596 of October 29, 2026. According to the updated requirements, the warning sign must be placed 250–500 m before a stationary radar. The mention of mobile complexes was excluded from the relevant regulation, so this requirement no longer applies to them.

Amendments were also made to clause 5.43 of the Traffic Regulations. Previously, the procedure for installing signs was regulated by clause 9 of Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 318 of May 15, 2025. The document provided for warning motorists about stationary radars, and the corresponding requirement came into force on September 1, 2025. The new version of regulatory acts clarifies that the obligation to install the sign applies specifically to stationary speed control devices.

The changes were adopted against the backdrop of expanding options for using traffic cameras. In particular, starting November 1, 2026, entrepreneurs were permitted to use private cameras. At the same time, the provided information does not disclose details of their use and does not specify what additional requirements will apply to such devices.
