Rutube уверяет, что не заблокирован в Узбекистане

The video hosting platform continues to operate despite reports of access issues

On April 17, the Rutube video hosting platform faced reports of being blocked in Uzbekistan. When attempting to access the site, users see a notification that access to the service is restricted based on a government decree issued in 2018. It states that the site can be blocked for promoting war, violence, and terrorism, disseminating information inciting national, racial, ethnic, or religious hatred. However, the service operates normally when using a VPN.

However, Rutube has denied the blocking information. Representatives of the company reported that the service continues to operate in Uzbekistan.

We do not see any changes in the number of views from Uzbekistan. Currently, it is at the level of the average daily values of the last year.

At the end of March, access to Rutube was also restricted in Turkey. A notification of the blocking initiated by the Turkish regulator BTK appeared on the site, which decided to ban the hosting back in February 2025. The notification cited excerpts from the Turkish Criminal Code, indicating that illegal gambling could be used to finance terrorism. And then Rutube also denied the existence of a blocking.
