Kuytosh Tungsten Mine Revives with Chinese Investment

Jizzakh Prepares to Launch a Strategic Project That Could Make Uzbekistan a Global Leader in the Industry

In the Jizzakh region, preparations are being completed to revive one of the region's largest deposits — the Kuytosh tungsten mine, with reserves of about 2.5 million tons.

The facility, discovered back in 1994 and idle for decades, is getting a second life thanks to the attraction of Chinese investment. Cleaning work is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year, and industrial production will start next year.

Extraction and processing will be carried out underground, at a depth of about 500 meters. A processing plant will be built directly next to the mine, where tungsten will be extracted from the ore. At the first stage, the project will create hundreds of jobs for residents of the Jizzakh region and neighboring regions, providing them with a stable and competitive income.

The launch of "Kuytosh" opens up the opportunity for Uzbekistan to become one of the world's leading producers of strategic metal. At the same time, other resource projects are developing in the country: in the Ustyurt region, SOCAR and "Uzbekneftegaz" have already begun joint exploration and production of minerals, strengthening Uzbekistan's role in the commodity market.
