Uzbekistan and Hungary discussed the implementation of a pilot project for a "smart district" in the Khovos district of the Syrdarya region. The negotiations took place within the framework of the execution of the instructions of the President of Uzbekistan with the participation of a working group on public administration, digital technologies and territorial development, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Public Administration and Territorial Development of Hungary.
One of the key outcomes of the meeting was an agreement to create a permanent joint working group to implement the project based on the Hungarian ZalaZONE model. The parties also exchanged experiences in the field of digital and local governance, discussing the implementation of elements of the Hungarian LEADER model, including involving citizens in decision-making, using open data and digital management platforms.
Additionally, the parties agreed to develop a territorial development index based on the Hungarian Regional Competitiveness Index, which will allow for an objective assessment of the potential of the regions and more effective allocation of investments. Special attention was paid to Hungary's experience with the "single window" system Government windows and the digital portal Ügyfélkapu+, the studied approaches are planned to be adapted for the development of digital infrastructure and improving the quality of public services in Uzbekistan.
