Uzbekistan and South Korea strengthen alliance in education and science

Joint programs, AI labs, and PhD programs at Inha should accelerate the training of specialists

Uzbekistan and South Korea have agreed to expand educational and scientific cooperation. This was announced following a meeting between the Deputy Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan, Rustam Karimjonov, and the President of Inha University, Myong Woo Cho. The parties discussed specific steps to develop joint programs and improve the skills of teachers and researchers.

One of the key areas will be sending assistants and employees of Tashkent universities to PhD programs at Inha University. This will strengthen the teaching staff and accelerate the development of scientific schools in the country. The initiative to create joint laboratories and research centers in the fields of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and logistics technologies was also supported.

Additionally, the parties approved the launch of a joint master's program in computer engineering and discussed the possibility of providing graduates with grants for MBA programs at Inha University. A joint working group is planned to be created to develop selection mechanisms and quotas. Special attention was paid to the Korean experience in the aviation and space sectors, which Uzbekistan intends to gradually introduce into educational, scientific, and practical activities.
