On December 23, nine students from Uzbekistan participated in the regional stage of the Huawei ICT Competition for the Middle East and Central Asia. The competitions were held online at the Huawei ICT Academy at the Tashkent University of Information Technologies named after Muhammad al-Khwarizmi.
The practical part of the competition included three areas: network technologies, computing technologies, and cloud solutions. In 2025, Huawei celebrates the 10th anniversary of the ICT Competition in the region, within the framework of which more than half a million specialists in the field of information and communication technologies have been trained.
Following the results of the national selection, students from the Tashkent University of Information Technologies, Inha University, Turin Polytechnic University, and Fergana State Technical University reached the regional final. The achievements of the participants and the contribution of Huawei instructors were noted at the awards ceremony before the start of the practical laboratory exam.
The students were divided into three teams and competed with participants from 13 countries in the region, including Kazakhstan, UAE, Pakistan, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia. For Uzbek students, this was the second participation in the Huawei ICT Competition, which continues to support continuous learning, innovation, and professional growth of young professionals at the international level. Last year, the regional finalists already represented the country at the global stage in China, where they took third place.
