Microsoft names AI usage leaders and laggards in 2025

Microsoft has released the Global AI Adoption in 2025 report, assessing the level of artificial intelligence tool usage in various countries. The United Arab Emirates leads with 64% of the working-age population actively using AI. Singapore is second (60.9%), and Norway is third (46.4%). Ireland, France, Spain, New Zealand, the Netherlands, the United Kingdom, and Qatar are also in the top ten.

Uzbekistan showed one of the lowest results: only 6.3% of the country's population used AI tools, placing it among the last in the ranking along with Cuba, Afghanistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Cambodia. In 2025, the growth of AI users in the country was only 0.6%.

South Korea showed the largest increase: the share of AI users reached 30.7%, with an 80% increase over the year, and the country rose from 25th to 18th place. Overall, according to Microsoft's assessment, one in six people in the world already uses generative artificial intelligence services, and countries with smaller populations often show a higher level of digitalization.
