NEXI insures a loan for the purchase of the Samarkand Automobile Plant by a Turkish-Japanese consortium

The deal will strengthen Isuzu's position in the region and support the privatization of Uzbekistan's state-owned enterprises

Nippon Export and Investment Insurance (NEXI) will provide insurance for a loan issued by Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation, BBVA Tokyo Branch, and Deutsche Bank AG Tokyo Branch to Türk Eximbank in order to support Anadolu Isuzu in the acquisition of the Samarkand Automobile Plant (SamAuto).

Anadolu Isuzu, a joint venture of the Turkish conglomerate Anadolu Group and the Japanese companies Isuzu Motors and Itochu, now controls the shares of SamAuto previously owned by the state. The deal makes it possible to strengthen Isuzu's regional presence and enhance the international competitiveness of Japan's automotive industry.

In addition, the transaction is in line with Uzbekistan's state privatization policy: through cooperation with Turkish companies, programs are being implemented to modernize and manage key industrial assets. In December 2025, the acquisition of a 75.2% stake in SamAuto was officially completed.
