In Uzbekistan, measures continue to restrict the operation of motor vehicles that do not comply with environmental standards, in line with the requirements of environmental legislation and Cabinet of Ministers Resolution No. 750. Special attention is being paid to the issuance of eco-stickers confirming a vehicle's compliance with environmental standards.
A working group led by H. Adilov, head of the Supervision Department for Environmental Legislation of the Prosecutor General's Office, is conducting inspections and analyzing the procedures for printing and issuing stickers. More than 55,000 applications have been submitted through the my.gov.uz portal, of which more than 45,000 eco-stickers have been produced and are ready for issuance. In the capital, more than 52,000 vehicles over 40 years old are in operation, of which more than 10,000 have passed technical inspection and received stickers.
The Prosecutor General's Office noted that work on the introduction of eco-stickers will continue in order to improve the environmental situation and protect public health, as well as to increase the responsibility of vehicle owners for compliance with environmental standards.
