The Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan, Sherzod Shermatov, met with a delegation from e& (Etisalat And) from the UAE, which serves approximately 189 million subscribers and operates in 38 countries worldwide. The negotiations took place on February 5 and were dedicated to the development of telecommunications infrastructure and digital services in Central Asia and the Middle East.
The parties discussed the possibilities of technological and infrastructural integration, as well as the strategic role of Uzbekistan as a regional center for cooperation. Representatives of e& spoke about the company's global activities and priority areas of development in the field of communications and digital services, emphasizing their interest in expanding their presence in the region.
The head of the ministry noted the large-scale reforms being carried out in the country to modernize the telecommunications infrastructure and accelerate digital transformation. During the visit, the e& delegation familiarized themselves with the work of IT Park and the projects of the Unified Integrator UZINFOCOM. Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness to implement joint initiatives and further dialogue to strengthen regional digital connectivity.
