The construction of new methane gas stations in Uzbekistan is currently deemed impractical. This was stated by Deputy Prime Minister Jamshid Khodjaev at a meeting with entrepreneurs in Karakalpakstan. According to him, the key problem is an acute gas shortage, which causes disruptions even for already operating methane gas stations.

The reason for the discussion was a question from Munoy Green, which was allocated a plot in the Navoi region for a car service complex with petrol and gas stations. The documents are ready, but the start of construction requires approval from energy authorities. Khodjaev emphasized that permits for new methane stations are not currently being issued, as it is impossible to provide them with fuel.

"You will build the facility — and your funds will simply be frozen," the Deputy Prime Minister directly warned, adding that methane will not be supplied to new facilities. The head of the Council of Ministers of Karakalpakstan, Farkhod Ermanov, confirmed that entrepreneurs are informed of the risks in advance, and permits have not actually been issued since last year. In response to pressure from investors, Khodjaev recommended postponing projects until gas supplies stabilize.
